Day 3 Castilblanco de los Arroyos to Almadén de la Plata
8 december 2016
The owners of the hotel left early this morning for some shopping in Sevilla. They left me the keys so I could open and close the front door and gate. At 7:45 I sat down in a small bar and ordered coffee con Leche and some toast and ham. For me the schnapps was to early the other men were drinking. Besides there coffee.
At 8:00 I paid two euros and left.
The first 16,5 km I had to follow the road. After 5 minutes I left the village behind me. Despite walking along the road is was very quiet. Fortunately there was little traffic. The sun. Was rising and it looked that it would be a nice day. Some clouds. But sunshine. Little wind. The road was hilly what made me struggle with my body temperature. I changed layers several times when I was to warm or to cold. This comes with walking in winterseason. As far as I could look there were fields with lone trees.
It took me 3,5 hours to walk the first 16,5km.
Then I left the road and entered the national park. A nice gravel road was my underground for the next 13 km. No traffic, no people.... Only Black pigs.
The first time I engaged a big wild pig I held my walking stick a little threatening in front of me. But as soon I got near the pig he ran off. And of course there were more in the woods.
After a while I didn't see them anymore. Till I came in a other wood off oaktrees. The pigs fed themselves with the acorns on the ground.
2,5 hour I walked through this beautiful park as I looked against a very steep hill. Only 2 km away from Almadén de la Plata.
In this little town I went into a very chic bar had a coke and left. I found a private albergue in a family house. It will be a blessed night, Mary and Jezus hanging over me on the white walls, watching me.
